Kreko frowned and stared at Aakarshan for a moment. "Why would you patronise me like that? Why? Why?" she sighed and turned back to Rose. "And he is certainly not the father. We know who the only three possible fathers are... And one of them keeps claiming that he's not... Or at least someone related to him does." she said frowing. "And considering everything that's happened... Well I think that the treatments relatively justified.

"Oh never mind Lisa.. You know how she is... We all know how she is and heck... I'm sure SHE even knows how bloody frustrating she can be" Rose added crossing her arms as she continued to lay, with her head down on the spare part of the bed. "Aren't you supposed to be going into surgery... By now?" she added glancing at Aakarshan for the second time. "you're the doctor.. stop sitting around here doing nothing".
Aakarshan didn't bother to try and look offended by Miss Tylers comments, but instead picked up Kreko's hand, ripping the IV line out. "Well.... Are we ready Kreko?"

"Ow ow ow ow OW!" Kreko said wrenching her hand back from Aakarshan. "That just kinda hurt." she said and turned to Rose. "You know... I changed my mind.. Reckon we can make the Doctor go back in time and get him to tell me to wear gloves all the time?" she asked almost quietly.

"Oh stop being a wuss... It's just a tiny needle" he said wrapping it up in the guaze to throw in the bin. "Why are women always such whiners... It's just a tiny tiny piece of metal, you wouldn't even be able to see it properly if you weren't staring at it" he added chucking it into the special bin. "Come on, now is certainly not the time to be backing out of anything. . You heard the proper Doctor.. No turning back now".
Rose laughed as she patted Kreko's other hand. "If we did that, then these two wouldnt' be here, and you want these kids.. I know you do, no matter... how much it might hurt... Oh dear god.. I don't think I ever want children.. Pain.. Not good" she muttered to herself.

The Doctor came back into the room and smiled warmly. “I’m assuming that by now you’re feeling numb enough for a safe operation, so how about we leave Aakarshan and you’re friend here and we’ll go and safely bring your children into this world.”
Kreko smiled slightly and gave Rose’s hand a bit of a squeeze. “I’m up for it if you are.” She said turning back to the Doctor. “Let’s ditch these two and get on with it already. She said letting go of Rose and sitting up slightly.
Two female nurses came into the room and took the breaks off the wheels of the bed and taking one side of the bed each they wheeled Kreko out of the room. The Doc turned to Rose. “We shouldn’t be much longer then half an hour. Then we’ll bring Kreko back in here and once we’ve performed the regular checks on both the children we’ll bring them in for you to see.” She said quickly before leaving the room.
Kreko had been wheeled into the operation room and because of Akkadian religious views the room only contained female Doctors and Nurses as well as a meditation aid, who would help to put Kreko into a deep state of meditation that was needed for both the mother and children to survive the birthing process.
The Doctor walked into the operation room and smiled again, she had the perfect bedside manner smile that could make anyone relax. “Now, you’ve done this before so you know the drill. But it’ll be a bit easier this time because apart from meditating, which if I remembered correctly you’re pretty good at, there’s nothing for you to do this time around. That’s my job.”
Kreko nodded as the meditation aid came over Kreko began meditating. She didn’t really need the woman’s help, after all mediation was really quite easy for her. It’s what she did in her spare time, especially when she needed to calm down, like after an argument with The Doctor. So she had slipped really easily into a comfortable calm place and it was such a comfortable calm place that she had no recollection of the birth at all, which was generally typical amongst Akkadians.
After about 25 minutes of surgery the removal of Kreko’s twins, and the application of bandages and first aid, she was wheeled back into her room by the two nurses. She was still in a deep meditation and had a slightly smaller stomach then before. The Doctor walked in behind her. “She should wale up naturally soon. I’ll come back later to talk to her.” She said before walking out of the room again.

As the Doctor looked around, waiting for Rose and Kreko, or Rose as he didn't know if Kreko would be able tog et out right now, and he let out a sigh. He was happy that there wasn't any cat people around in this hospital, as he didn't nkow what to do then.

Cat people or not, this hospital was a little on the creepy side, but with a few plusses to add.
1. No Doctor-kissing, body snatcher Cassandra. 2. There were babies on the way. Kreko's babies. 3. Kreko would be safe here.
Passing the Doctor with a smile, she tugged on his hand, letting him know that she'd be in with kreko, and if the Doctor was allowed- he should come in and see her, as the head Doctor from before, had just come via Rose to tell her Kreko was back in the ward.
Moving through the big double doors again, into the clinically white room, she saw her friend laying very still on the bed. Indeed her stomach had seemed to deflate a bit, not much- but a noticeable amount, and she was still completely out of it. Walking to her friends bedside, she took a seat back in the comfortable armchair, watching the Doctor, as he paced up and down outside the double doors. "Kreko" she whispered, chucking her feet up onto the railings of Kreko's bed, but softly. "Hmm.. Maybe I shouldnt' be waking her" Rose muttered aloud, but shrugged shortly after. Kreko's babies were... Well, born.. Why would anyone want to sleep through that?

Kreko opened her eyes slowly. She didn't want to open her eyes. She knew what had happened. She could feel it. The psychic connection was gone. She could see Rose, it had taken a moment for her eyes to adjust, she could see the Doctor pacing outside like he used too. She opened her mouth but then she remembered she couldn't. It wasn't allowed. Not now. A part of the rituals for grief. The head nurse came back in. "There's been a development. I'm sorry but you're going to have to wait outside for the moment. She's not allowed to see anyone. I'll be out in a minute to talk to you." she said taking Rose's hand and standing her up making her head towards the door. Kreko turned away from the people and stared silently at the ceiling thinking... thinking nothing. There was nothing.

Rose was pulled away by the nurse, from Kreko's bedside as quickly as she'd gotten in there. "Sorry? What?!" Rose panicked slightly, glancing behind her as she quickly paced back towards the large double doors with the nurse. "Is it Kreko.. or the Children?" Rose asked as she shot a look at the Doctor who was just outside. She didn't want to leave kreko, but Kreko hadn't even been awake, or at least Rose hadn't seen when Kreko had opened her eyes, by the time she had, the Head Nurse was already pulling Rose away. "She'll be alright... wont she?" Rose added as she stood on the other side of the door. "We'll be right here... Waiting" she added turning to the Doctor, panic stricken. "Doctor.. Kreko's... Something's going on".

The Doctor blinked a few times before he smiled softly at her, but then he saw she was gone again. Slipping his hand into the pocket of his pin-striped jacket as he waited, watching her go and he sighed softly. The Doctor moved a few paces towards the room, yet stopped unsure if Kreko would want him in there or not after he knew he had been a jerk to her a few times, well often was maybe the best word for that, but then again he was always busy being close to Rose. Frowning as his brown eyes saw Rose and he walked towards her and stopped. Though a worried look was placed in his face as it had been calm before. "What's going on?" he asked, before looking at Rose, to the nurse and he just looked between them over and over again. Moving his hand before walking beside her and grabbed her hand, the Doctor tried to smile again. "I'm sure they would tell us if something was wrong. But I still don't trust nurses..." he replied.

The Nurse frowned slightly. "The birth went well. Kreko herself is fine. She gave birth to twins. A boy and a girl. The girl is fine and healthy, but there were complications with the boy. The are only half Akkadian and it seems that the boys mixed species DNA did not manage to merge properly and he suffered major organ failure one he was out of the womb. He was simply unable to function because of the way his DNA merged. As a result Kreko will need to be in isolation for at least 24 hours after which she will be allowed to see people but she cannot speak to anyone for 24 days. It is the way our culture respects those who are dead to us. If you wish I can take you too see the baby girl." the Nurse said trying to be as respectful and calming as possible.

Rose who had her hand gripped tightly around the Doctors, breathed a sigh of relief when the nurse did reply that Kreko was safe, but then came the worst news. Twins, but twins no longer. "WHAT?!" Rose almost screeched out, as she turned to face the nurse- her eyes flicking nervously to the door before she shook her head. "But... No... I mean, if they were twins.. The DNA would've been the same.. That couldn't have happened.. You must've made a mistake" she said shaking her head firmly at the nurse. "Doctor.. Tell her, that it can't happen" Rose pleaded with her Doctor, who was silent besides them both. "It's not possible, is it?!" Rose managed to squeak out, even though she knew it was the truth, and they'd all have to face it sooner or later. But how could this have happened?! Like this. Hadn't Kreko lost enough? Hadn't she had to live through enough pain and mourning for one lifetime?
"We can't see her for 24 days?!" Rose checked with the nurse. 'Yes, can we both... See the .... The girl"

The Doctor frowned softly, before looking at Rose, and then at the nurse but his hand slowly slipped from Rose's as he moved closer to the door but he stopped. Rubbing the back of his neck, he was stilla ble to hear what the nurse was saying and Rose. "She's right. If they're twins then they're DNA should be the same." he said before turning around and stared at the Nurse "Unless somehow the second type of DNA hardly got to the girl, and didn't effect her a lot". Hearing about how they could't see her for 24 hours, and she was unable to speak to them for 24 days, it seemed like things got worse and worse. "Rose. She could she was unable to speak to anybody for 24 days, it's 24 hours we can't see Kreko." he said, before returning back to Rose's side.

"24 hours is bad enough Doctor" Rose muttered as she unclenched her jaw, her lip bleeding slightly from where her teeth had dug in. "The little girl.. She'll be fine.. Wont she?" Rose enquired. "Nothing... Can happen later on.. You're sure that she's... Perfectly okay?" Rose managed to sniffle out as she glanced back at the Doctor who returned to her side. Even the Doctor looked nervous. "How could this happen.. One twin suffers but the other... Is fine.. It doesnt' make any sense. Twins are born from the same cell at first.. and then they split.. So I dont' understand" Rose sighed, rubbing her forehead with both hands as she moved back through the double doors past the Head Nurse. "Take us to the little girl, please.. We need to see her.. For Kreko"

The Nurse shook her head. "They weren't identical twins. So they weren't born from the same cell. If that was the case then they would have both been boys or both been girls. They were fraternal not identical twins. Just as a brother born from different time to his younger sister will have differen't DNA. So are twins that are born from different eggs. That's how one was a boy and one was a girl. The genes from the DNA formed differently in each twin. In the girl they produced a healthy half-caste, in the boy they were unable to merge and create a healthy child. It could be that the gene which made the boys organs shut down was dominant in the boy and yet recessive in the girl. Or it could just be that the girl is extremely lucky that her DNA is able to function properly, or perhaps the boys carried a gene only on the y chromosome that males posses, which killed him." The Nurse shrugged. "We won't know until after we;ve examined him." she turned, "If you wish to see the girl, follow me. Any more questions you have I would be more then willing to try to answer them."
