Abbie had had her morning coffee, one of the human discoveries that she greatly valued, and now she leaning against the wall by the coffee pot in Torchwood headquarters staring at the rather large pile of files that were over on her desk that she would have to sort through today.
She would sort through the files figuring out which ones were simply normal human killers and she would pass those off to the police, and then she would figure out which ones were the run of the mill easy lost alien sightings and she would hand those off to the interns and then she would find the really bad bad guys who were hell bent on destroying the world and her and her boss, Rose Tyler would as usual go off and save the world.
She sighed and stopped leaning against the wall and walked over to her desk and sat down. Putting her coffee mug down on her coaster of The Beatles, she didn't want to leave a rim on her desk, and picked the first file off her desk. She sighed and placed the file from her pile and onto the main section of her desk, "Please let this be a good file, the type of file that means that I won't have to look through the rest of them today." she muttered to herself and opened the file.
After about five minutes of simply flicking through the file she smiled and jumped up from her desk. Rushing quickly over to her superiors office she quickly knocked on the door before opening it. "Oh you'll never believe what I've got for you. An alien that doesn't like to eat skin." she said dropping the file in front Rose, looking rather pleased with herself.

"Where's those files" came another voice from the busy office on the tenth floor of this worlds 'canary towers' in London, south east of the famous 'London Eye', the only problem was, that this wasn't her London.
Three years ago. To the day she stood on a sandy beach in Norway- tears streaming down her face, her family watching from afar, and a man. No, an image of a man stood facing her, saying his goodbyes for the last time. The image eventually faded, cutting him off mid-sentence as her family gathered around her. Things from that point on, had certainly changed. Four and a bit years ago, she'd been working in a shop, living at her mums without a father and an ex-boyfriend. That's when he decided to show up. A man that changed her world, and her life. A man that had killed her in one world, and brought her to life in another. You see, that was the problem. She wasn't in her London at all, she was in a London very much like her own, but in a parrallel world, where her mother and father were together- her father obviously very much alive, a younger sister - Allison, and Mickey- the ex. Things had been sour at first, as anyone had expected them to be, but three years on since that day at Bad Wolf Bay, things had changed.
This was Rose Tyler. Defender of the Earth- well, at least a defender, one of many- working for Torchwood, in the same building on a parallel world that ended her days back in her London. And would you look at this, Boss already? At 24? Who'd have thought. She had employees to impress, to instruct- she had companions herself, she had friends on this strange parallel world, which she now called home.
"Say what?" came her joking scoff of a laugh, spinning around on her brand new ergonomic swivel chair- Rose, a proud owner of green spotted chair. "One that doesnt' eat skin? I think the unvierse has gone mad" she added with a wink, taking the file from Abbie. "Let's just see what we've got here shall we" she added scanning through the file, looking midly puzzled. "Why did we get this one? Please tell me we don't have to go on another wild goose chase, because Peter" - Rose's Boss, Abbie's Bosses Boss- "Couldn't be arsed to do it himself"

"Oh come on, look at it it's exciting. Something that doesn't eat skin, and see look what else they found." Abbie said walking so she was standing next to Rose and took two of the photos from the file. "At the first victim, there was one set of foot prints going to the site." she said placing one of the photos in front of Rose. "But there were at least 4 sets of footprints leaving the scene." she said placing the other photo in front of Rose. "And after this first one there was a relatively decent gap of time between the next one, and they were relatively close together. But they've been getting more frequent and..." she said grabbing a map which showed where the attacks took place with a date next to each. "They've been spreading out. And all of them have one set of footprints entering the scene and at least four leaving the scene. It varies depend on the weight and size of the person." she smiled slightly. "What we have, is an incredibly exciting being, that seems to reproduce using human bodies, well everything except skin. Whether they planned to attack earth or found us luck is another matter entirely. Come on this is one of the most exciting cases we've had in weeks, don't give it up." she said. "Come on this a case for Rose and her handy alien sidekick Abbie." she said pleading with her eyes. "Anything to get me out of my cubicle of an office."

She read through the file quickly. Abbie was right, it was something different at least. Something they hadn't exactly done for a while. "Sounds as though who ever is behind this is breeding they're own little 'alien' species by using the victim as a host... That explains only one set of footprints into the crime scene and four or more out.. Can you imagine that.. It's almost too disgusting" she muttered closing the file as she finished off her coffee, then tying up her long blonde hair with a sigh. "Well I 'spose we can't reject such an interesting case... Especially because it's been so slow these last few weeks, it will give us a chance to get out of this hell hole" she added with a shrug as she stood, handing the file back to Abbie. "Right then. I 'spose we really should get on with it, try and find out what's going on before it, or they... continue attacking innocent english victims eh?" she added before pausing. "Maybe should warn mum though." Rose muttered before grabbing that black leather jacket off the back of her chair, pulling it over her shoulders. That black jacket never left her side. The black jacket she'd worn every day, since she started working here.

Abbie hugged the file to her chest. She loved working at Torchwood, being stranded on a strange planet the random alien species that she came across always made her feel slightly better. "Now Rose, just becuase they use other people's bodies to reproduce doesn't mean it's necessarily disgusting. I mean if that's how they reproduce... However it would be beter if they didn't have to kill anybody else to reproduce, but still, if that's how they live and that's how they're planet is structured then I don't see how that's any worse then this world. After all you guys pop little versions of yourself out of holes in your body with lots of blood and gore... how gross." she followed Rose as they both headed to the equipment locker to grab the basic investigations case and write out a quick investigation file. "You know alot of these cases that Peter should be taking care of have been crossing my desk lately, I think he's doing something secret. Some secret job.... Very... secret. Which would be why I don't knpw what it is." she said shrugging slightly, telling herself mentally to stop rambing. "And I'm pretty sure what ever this is... your mother would be quite able to handle it." she said smiling slightly.

"Abbie.. Human's giving birth is hardly gross... Far worse to have aliens killing people and diving them up to become new... aliens" she added as she closed the cupboard door, with a gun in her holster, just in case. "You've been reading too many of those novels again haven't you" Rose scoffed as she glanced over towards Peter's desk, which was shut. Again. He never seemed to be in these days, and if he was- well, something was going on, and he certainly didn't want to be disturbed, so most people came to Rose or Abbie. "Don't worry, I'm with you on the Pete thing. That guy spends far too much time in the dark" she added, noticing the light in his office was off, but there wasn't definatley movement inside, you could hear it. "Ever since that new secretary came in" she coughed before checking her watch. "Right... Where did you say the first scene was? We should head there first.. Check out what the police didn't find eh?"

"Ah see that's just your human opinion again. I have a hunch that you're all so set in your ways because you don't know what's really out there. Trust me there are grosser things out there than an alien that uses people to reproduce." Abbie paused momentarily. "Actually there are grosser things in your own culture then an alien that uses people to reproduce." she frowned slightly. "And what books would they be?" she asked before quickly checking the file. "Somewhere in Chiswick.... You can drive." she said quickly. "I still don't understand your transport system or rules for that matter. It's all just a little bit too complicated for me. Lestat is sooo much simpler." she said grabbing the type of investigation packs that although from the outside looked like the same boxes of equipment that crime scene investigators would use, on the inside the technology was slightly different.

"Right, and the Lestat is not what people down here want to see exactly. Trust me, these folk have seen enough to send anyone bloody bonkers with confusion... " she said muddling up her own two 'englands' without realising it. "The government seriously isn't doing the best job at covering up things, or I tell you... the Lestat very well could be in their eyes another one of those almightly strange blimps they keep telling everyone" Rose added with a shrug grabbing the keys off the hook. "Not too far at all.. Was there any blood at the site?" she asked as they headed down towards the basement. "Any signs of cuts or incisions?"

Abbie shrugged. "Well this place seemed relatively alright when I landed it on the top of Torchwood... then again that was when it's cloaking system was still working. But no, now it's stuck in the darn basement whilst you people keep checking it over to see if it's some kind of weapon. Well of course it's a weapon it's a spaceship. It has to be able to protect itself doesn't it..." she sighed as they hopped in the lift and headed down to the underground carpark where they would be assigned one of the horribly small, in Abbie's opinion anyway, Torchwood cars. "Well there was no kinds of abrasions or anything on the leftover skin and minimal amounts of blood, mostly around the mouth... And becuase of the lack of organs and bones and muscle, there's no way to know the exact cause of death, but we can assume that it was death by alien reproduction."

"It better not be the case of adipodes again" she muttered behind her hand as she hopped into the car. This parallel world, to the Doctors had recently had the same occurance, not that anyone knew that it had happened elsewhere, but strangley enough- things were starting to match up in both worlds once again, as though a tiny tiny, microscopic hole in the rift was there- of course, there couldn't be one.. Could there? "Right, so we've got nothing to go on, but our ultra violet scans, and traces of cosmic radiation to go on?" Rose continued, starting up the large black 4wd with tinted windows, the Torchwood logo on both numberplates front and back. "No bones, organs or muscle left. You ever seen the movie the 'Mummy'?" she asked Abbie turning out of the car park. "Something that sucks human energy from enother, taking organs, and tissues from one person and using them to form their own 'human' identities?"

Abbie shook her head "That's it... Well and whatever other major clues the two of us happen to uncover whilst we're being geniuses." She frowned for a moment. "Honestly I haven't seen that many of your earth moving pictures... Apart from going out with you on these investigations they don't really let me leave the Torchwood building. After all I am an alien." she paused slightly. "The weird thing is, they don't let me leave, but they let me see Lestat whenever I want, so if I really wanted to I could probably just fly out of here... although that would probably destroy a large portion of London, so it's probably not the best idea."

"Apart from destroying a large portion of London with your enormous Lestat, I'd say staying at Torchwood wasn't too bad" Rose added. "Nice accomodation at least? Plus.. If you haven't seen enough of our 'moving pictures' I'll set you up with some. Some that'll be classified under 'research' tools for Petes sake" she added with a laugh as she pulled up just outside the blue and white police tape that had the crime scene sealed off completely to the public. Few officers were there, in white suits- chemical protection suits. Really no need, but the general police and public didn't have to know that. It'd been well over a week since the actual incident at this site, so there weren't too many stray visitors hanging around. No prying eyes of little old ladies who had nothing better to do then hang out at a homicide scene. Or at least what they thought was a simple homicide scene. "Blimey.. You would've thought they'd have gotten rid of that stench by now"

Abbie frowned, "Well I dunno, nice accomodation would be something that instead of letting me simply look at the world, let me go outside and experience it. Then again I think the last time I talked to Pete about it, he suggested that I open a window." she said as she hopped out of the car. "But some moving pictures would be nice, something new to look at apart from a view, and the reception on the... tele...vision." she said remembering the name of the piece of technology that presented her with the moving pictures. "isn't the best." she finished. "Well it is decomposing skin, which by itself is probably not any worse then the smell of a decomposing body... So anything interesting at this normal everyday crime scene site?" she said mostly to herself as they both passed the guarding police and flashed their Torchwood badges, something that nowdays could get them anywhere.

"Ahh Pete.. Great sense of humour... Like my dad" she muttered rolling her eyes, as she too flashed her Torchwood pass, which of course was no issue- even when all they did was flash the strange 'T' symbol at them. Truley, they could've been fake and they didn't care. Torchwood now had clearance to pretty much anything. "There are ways around Pete.. You just have to know how to use them to your advantage.. " she added as she covered her nose with a hand, in vain attempt to block out the horrid smell. "Ghastly" she groaned, glancing over at the 'bodies' that lay under the white plastic sheets. "As for interesting? It looks like a chainsaw masacare as opposed to Torchwood site" she muttered. "There's absolutley no bloody clues besides... what's on... or not on, on the bodies" she groaned, crouching down to the white sheets and peeling one back. "We'll need samples of the skin, that's left.. Check with the UV light for prints, or residue left over of what ever these things are... now" she added coughing, almost gagging with the smell. "God.. Jack would have a field day with this" she murmered to herself.

Abbie frowned as she simply stood and took in the crime scene she always found it easier to understand each individual body if she could remember the whole picture in her head. "I didn't realise they were all this close together... It's a surprise that the people we're related or weren't linked in someway." she frowned and took a quick peak under each of the plastic sheets. "And they're all at different stages of decomposition. Which could suggest that this is where whatever killed them brought them to be killed... but there's no drag marks." she frowned. "Nothing in the ground and..." she said lifting up one of the white plastic sheets and looking at the skins shoes. "No build up of dirt around the edges of the shoes. So that could mean that before it completely destroyed the insides of these people. It was in control of their bodies for a while, and this is where they came to reproduce. But now that we've discovered it they won't return. Which means that unless they've found somewhere new to reproduce, we could have alien controlled humans walking around looking for a new place to reproduce." she said frowning as she grabbed one of the scanners and started to scan for anything unknown to earth. "We should really examine the skin back in the lab."
